A week of bad news

First, we hear the A's are moving to Freemont. I suppose I'm excited for the move and a new stadium, but I really don't like the sound of the "Freemont A's," assuming they keep the "A's" name. I really hope they don't pull another Anaheim and call them the "San Jose A's of Freemont" or the "Silicon Valley A's of Freemont." Overall, the news on the move isn't that bad, its just a bit sad to say bye to the colliseum.

Second, we hear that Ron Washington went for a coaching job in Texas. Huge bummer. He was definitely the crowd favorite for manager.

Third, we hear that Thomas is going to the Blue Jays. Another huge bummer. Thomas really earned the respect of the A's and the A's fans.

Fourth, we hear that the A's name Geren the new manager. This isn't really that bad of news, just a a bummer that it isn't Washington.

Finally we hear that they A's are interested in getting Bonds to replace Thomas as DH. Bonds? Come on! You are going to replace the fun jovial Thomas with the jerk Bonds? Way to put salt on the wounds of the week.

The worst part about moving to Fremont is the distance from BART. You would think that they would have considered the importance of mass transit when choosing a location. Jeff.
